Tiriig Launches Beeroole, Reaching More Than 600 Farmers

Tiriig has launched Beeroole, a digital agriculture platform that has already reached more than 600 farmers with market information, early warnings, and AI-powered crop support.

We launched Beeroole, a digital agriculture platform designed to help smallholder farmers access practical information and tools that can support better farming decisions.

The platform was developed around challenges farmers regularly face, including limited access to timely market information, changing weather conditions, crop diseases, and unreliable internet connectivity.

Beeroole brings several services together in one platform. Farmers can access localized weather information, agricultural early warnings, market prices, farming guidance, and AI-powered crop disease detection.

One of the key features of Beeroole is its crop disease detection tool. Farmers can take a photo of an affected crop and receive an AI-assisted diagnosis directly through the mobile app. The disease detection system can also work offline on Android devices, allowing farmers to use it even when internet access is limited.

Since its release, Beeroole has reached more than 600 farmers, with much of the early adoption coming from farming communities in Gabiley.

Feedback from farmers has also helped us understand which features provide the most immediate value. Market prices, in particular, have been useful for farmers who want better information before selling their produce or negotiating with middlemen.

As one farmer in Gabiley explained, access to market pricing through the app helps him better understand current prices when negotiating with buyers.

Beeroole was developed by Tiriig with support from the Tadamon Food Security Accelerator, which provided technical guidance, mentorship, and financial support during the development of the platform.

For Tiriig, Beeroole is part of a broader effort to build technology around real local challenges. Rather than developing technology first and looking for where it can be used, the team has focused on understanding what information farmers need and how that information can be delivered in a simple and accessible way.

The platform will continue to evolve based on farmer feedback. Future work will focus on improving existing features, expanding the agricultural information available through the platform, and reaching more farming communities.
